POSSIBLE PHYSIOLOGICAL ACTION(S)
The innovative combinations of specific nutrients facilitate and sensitize the dynamic physiological mechanisms at work during strenuous prolonged physical exertion. When used as prescribed these innovative combinations of specific nutrients function synergistically to:
- Facilitate glycogen synthesis in liver and skeletal muscle tissues. This occurs independently of the stimulus of exercise or any diet regimens.
· Facilitate inter-organ homeostasis.
· Minimize the exercise-induced stress that is caused by strenuous physical activity.
· Improve the removal of metabolites from active muscles during and after continuous or intermittent physical exertion, aiding muscle recovery.
· Improve muscle power output by reducing the muscular and systemic acidosis which accompanies muscle fatigue.
· Supply and elevate the plasma levels of the main substrates utilized by the immune systems following intense physical exertion.
INDICATIONS
SPORT-X ENDURANCE supplement is a 3-part nutritional supplement programme specifically developed to reduce the exercise-induced stress in cyclists participating in prolonged and continuous strenuous aerobic events that lasts from 1½ -10 hours.
The product should only be used within the 6 hour period before competing.
CONTRA-INDICATIONS
· No side effects have been reported when the recommended dosage was adhered to and the general directions for use were followed.
· Nausea was reported in a limited number of cases where the capsules were chewed prior to ingestion.
· Consult a general practitioner or physician when hypersensitivity to the ingredients is suspected (highly improbable).
· Diabetics are advised to use the product under the guidance of a physician.
· Do not train with the product.
DOSAGE AND DIRECTIONS FOR USE
General directions
· Review the comments under the contra-indications above
The period 5-4 days prior to participation:
- On days 5 and 4 before the event, reduce the solid carbohydrate (starch) portion of food intake to 3 gram per kg body mass in every 24-hour period. Meals must consist of 50% carbohydrate and 50% protein and fat.
- Training load (volume and intensity) is continued at 70% of game-pace level.
The period 3- 2 days prior to participation
- On days 3 and 2 before the event, increase the carbohydrate intake to 10 gram per kg body mass in every 24-hour period. The meals should comprise carbohydrate (80%) as well as protein and fat (20%).
- Only two very large meals - breakfast and an evening meal – per day are recommended, rather than more frequent, smaller meals.
- Water must be drunk frequently and copiously. Urinating should take place every three hours.
- Training tapers off to roughly 10% of the normal training load.
The day prior to participation
· On the day before participating, for best results, eat three to four very large meals, evenly spaced. The meals should comprise carbohydrate (80%) as well as protein and fat (20%).
Specific directions (The day of participation)
Blue capsules
· Take 10 BLUE capsules within 20 minutes after the last meal intake, 4 hours prior to the event or the evening before the event. This meal should consist mainly of carbohydrates.
· Consume one table spoon of peanut butter two hours before the event.
· One cup of caffeinated coffee without sugar is recommended 90 minutes before competing.
· Consume a small (100 gram) top-up meal 2 minutes prior to the event – preferably a Bovril sandwich. The intake of any other foodstuffs or liquid other than water 4 hours prior to the use of the product may dilute the beneficial effects of the product.
Yellow capsules
- Take the yellow capsules every 30 minutes during the race.
- Consume any preferred form of carbohydrate (starch and/or sugar drinks) during the event.
White capsules
Take 4 white capsules with water 30 minutes after the event.
